What’s good y’all! Face it, being creative nowadays can be hard af. Everyone has some type of skill that they like to hype up on insta; whether you are an up and coming rapper that blew up on Soundcloud or have a cute little etsy shop selling trinkets. If you’re a creative, now is the time to shine and get your name out there. We’re going to give you a couple tips, that way that 26 follower count goes up to 26k!
#Use #Hashtags
One of the easiest and well known ways to boost your posts on social media is by using hashtags. Use hashtags that are relevant to your content or related in some way! For example, if you’re an artist trying to sell some paintings, use #art #painting #creative, that way anytime someone searches up those keywords, you’ll be smack in the middle of those results, you heard? There are even websites that generate hash tags for you based on one word so you don’t need to be racking your brain like crazy trying to come up with something, so use that to your advantage.
Stories + Reels
Now I know you’d be lying if you haven’t seen at least one video talking about how important reels are. Whether it be on FB or Insta, reels are the perfect way to get some engagement to your page, plus they’re fun to make! Throw up some vids of you freestyling, slap on some of those tags and watch your views soar! Dope thing about it is that you can post the reels to your stories, and everyone and they moms watches others stories (don’t pretend like you aint nosey, we all are!).
That’s What Friends Are For
If you have that inner circle of friends and family who would do anything to support you and your craft, use that to your advantage! It’s usually your support groups that are the first to help spread the word of what you’re trying to do because they want to see you succeed! Everyone needs to start somewhere so don’t be embarrassed if the first customer you get in your shop is your auntie because she aint gonna be the last!
Give Some $ to Get Some $
Okay okay, we know that you probably read this and was like ‘I aint spending no damn money on social media posts’ but hold up alright? This way actually does put your name out there and not just to people you follow or know, but to complete strangers. You see it all the time on instagram when you’re scrolling, those posts about some random musician and it has the word ‘sponsored’ at the bottom. Almost everybody has clicked on a sponsored post before, and that post can be yours so make sure you check those stats.
Link Up!
Another good addition to have is a linktree in your page description; a place where all the links to your streaming, shop, reviews, patreon and other info your customers may need is! It’s mad helpful to have because if you get 50 people asking where they can buy a painting, or merch, or listen to your streams, instead of getting overwhelmed and sending all those out you just need to refer them to one spot so set it up!
Now that you know the basics, stack up on some social media marketing knowledge, see what times and days are most active to post to get the most traction to your craft and start putting that name out there!
