These are called Phishing texts, where they lure you in with clicking their link and once there, it’s the same as before; the scammers ask for your personal details.

Another way scammers get you is through calling. This targets mostly the older crowd but it could happen to anyone. The scammer will call and tell you that you owe a certain amount of money from a loan you’ve taken or or else collections will call. Then, they’ll try to get your social security number out of you. NEVER TELL ANYONE YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY, keep that shit on lock. It’s for you and only for you.

Another scary and up and coming scam are AI scams. These are scams that mostly targets older people since they dont be knowing much about technology, but we do and we know that AI is the shit right now. As helpful as it can be, it can also be mad scary. Scammers are now using AI to copy people’s voices to get information out of you, so be careful because if they dont target you, they’ll target grandma for 100%.

PROTECT YA SELF

These scams can be intimidating especially if you fall for them, but here are some tips to protect yourself and what to do if you fall victim to them.

  • First of all, NEVER give out your personal information unless you know the people you are giving it to are legitimate.
  • Do not click on any links for things you don’t remember buying
  • If someone calls, claiming they are a family member, ask questions only they will know. If they answer wrong, hang up on that bitch
  • Make a password that is hard to guess and change it every few months
  • If you happen to give any banking information out or do deposit a counterfeit check, call your bank IMMEDIATELY and report it. They’ll lock your account until the issue is solved and most likely will send you a new card
  • Considering investing in a monthly VPN, like VPN shark or Nord VPN, that way scammers can’t access your info from your computer

Obviously, there’s a lot more scams out there but these are the main way they be finding your ass and taking your valuables. Remember, protect your and your families information because this can seriously fuck up your life. Stay smart and stay protected!
