Okay, let’s be real; studying is a real bitch of a chore to do. We know a lot of you probably pull those all nighters and end up exhausting yourself or just trying to wing those finals and cross your fingers you pass with a decent score. There’s no shame in it, that’s a part of the college experience, but it’s all about growth, and today we’re going to tell you all the tips to grow those study habits to get those golden grades!
Chill With the Screen Time
Doom Scrolling through Insta and Tik Tok aint gonna pass you on that biology test so PUT THAT PHONE DOWN. Try to limit any technology usage unless it is 100% helping you look up resources or take notes. Technology isn’t the only thing that can distract you, but the environment as well! When going to study, make sure you find a quiet space that isn’t hectic. Don’t go to that student hub but instead, hit up the campus library or even a quiet spot by the quad. Surround yourself with like minded friends who are trying to study too, not someone who’s trying to show you a funny meme they just saw.
The More, The Merrier!
On that note, see if your college has study groups because they damn sure got one for every class you can probably think of. Get a group of people you can count on, who share the same goals of acing those grades and pair up. They may know things that you don’t, so share that knowledge!
Pull Out Those Flashcards
Now when it comes to studying, you seriously need to suit up on some study materials; Pens, notebooks, post it notes, highlighters, anything you can think of to make studying easier! Flashcards are a big one when it comes to studying so make sure you get them in multiple colors because trust us, it helps.
Ask Ask Ask!
Now put that ego aside and don’t be embarrassed to ask for help! If you’re in a study group, pair up and quiz each other. If you’re riding it solo, go to your campus tutoring center and put your skills to the test with a tutor. It’s better asking for help and getting those top scores than to do it alone and fail.
Check In On Yourself
Now here’s something most people forget to mention; take care of yourself! When studying, you might be on that grind and forget to drink some water or eat, and thats gonna end up costing you. Bring a couple bags of Cheez-Its, a sandwich and seltzer water the next time you study, and don’t forget to take some breaks in between to breathe some air. Your brain needs some time off too!
And that’s that! Use these tips to help you achieve academic excellence and get the grade that you deserve. Gather that study group and share these tips as well, y’all will be thanking us when you get on that honor roll!
