Job Interview 101: How To Stand Out in That Job Game!

Okay okay! So, you got that call for a job interview for that company you’ve been eyeing, but lowkey your pockets are mad dry? No worries, we’re gonna tackle this style game on a budget, and keep it real for all my finance fam!

Hit The Thrift Shops Like You Hitting that Blunt

Hit through those racks, find gems that scream “I’m my own damn boss” because secondhand threads be drippin’ with unique flavor, and you won’t break the bank. Just make sure they don’t have wear and tear on it!

Guys, Simple Says A Lot

Khakis, white and blue dress shirts. Now let’s talk colors – keep it dope yet clean. Black and navy are a vibe especially for first impressions, but a pop of color ain’t a crime. Show ’em you mean business, but you’re also lowkey chill. Trust me, and show them what you’re about! Keep that shirt tucked in. Don’t be dressin like you the big man on the block, pants down to ya ankles.

Girls, Show Off Some Of That Class!

Pants, blouses and if you think you can swing it, blazers are a nice touch. Keep it simple, throw a ring in there or a cute necklace. Make sure you don’t show off too much skin! You at an interview, not at the club trying to get you a mans. Throw in a splash of color to make you stand out from the rest and look classy.

Now Tie It All Together

Shoes; we’re not saying to wear a pair that screams “These are my grandparents’ church shoes that don’t fit them no more” but class gives you extra points during an interview. I bet you can find some fresh professional shoes at the thrift store that doesn’t make you look dusty, or maybe if you feelin fancier, DSW. Accessories – y’all know the drill. A sleek tie or some statement earrings, make ’em look twice without droppin’ mad bills.

Remember, it’s not about the cash you flash, but the confidence you stash. Walk up in there like you own the place, and watch that job be callin’ your name. Stay fly and get that gig! ✌️ #InterviewDrip #BrokeButBossin
